A career that starts late
Chavarría does not have the path of an early talent. He made his debut with UE Figueres in 2016, in the amateur game, and stayed two seasons for thirty-six appearances. Then two years at UE Olot, in the Spanish third tier, where he scored his first senior goals. The step up came in 2020 with Real Zaragoza, in the second division: seventy-four appearances in two seasons.
He reached the Spanish top flight at twenty-four, in the summer of 2022, when he joined Rayo Vallecano. In four seasons there he made one hundred and five LaLiga appearances and scored twice. His European debut arrived only at twenty-seven, and it was a long one: eight Conference League matches in 2025-26, a run that ended with a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the final in Leipzig on 27 May.
